FAQ: questions people ask before, during, and after the chat.
If yours isn't here, the discovery chat is the fastest way to get a real answer specific to your business.
Engagement
- Do I need to know what AI I want before we start?
- No. Most of our work is helping you figure that out. You bring the business, we bring the AI map. By the end of discovery we’ll already have a shortlist of where AI is the right answer — and where it isn’t.
- What if I already have a tool in mind?
- Great — if you engage the paid strategy, we’ll pressure-test it against alternatives and tell you honestly if it’s the right fit, or if there’s something better for your situation. We don’t take vendor kickbacks and we don’t need you to buy any specific platform; the recommendation is yours, not ours.
- Is this a replatforming project?
- Sometimes. More often it’s removing tools you don’t need, connecting the ones you do, and rebuilding the handoffs between them. The goal is leverage, not new software. If the audit says your current stack is already most of the answer, we say so.
- Do I have to commit to anything to start?
- No. The first three stages are free, so you can stop after any of them with no cost. Many people stop after the report — they have the plan they came for, even if they execute it themselves.
Pricing
- What does it cost?
- Discovery, the written opportunity report, and the optional discussion are free — that’s the first three stages. Strategy itself — the 90-day roadmap, vendor selection, and change plan — is paid work, scoped before it starts. Implementation is fixed-fee, scoped per engagement before any work starts; the number depends on the size of the build and you see it in writing before you commit. Monthly maintenance is an optional subscription priced per system.
- Why are the first three stages free?
- Because the only way to know whether we’re a fit is to do real work together. We invest the time up front; you keep the opportunity report whether you hire us or not. If we’re not a fit, you walk with the report anyway. Strategy and implementation are paid because that’s where the real labor lives.
Process
- What happens when something breaks?
- Monitoring is built in, and we stay on call for 30 days post-launch at no extra cost. After that, we offer a maintenance subscription, or we hand over clean docs so your team can own it. You’re never locked in.
- How disruptive is this to my business?
- Minimal — by design. We stage rollouts so each phase stands on its own. You’re never in a “we’ll be live again in three months” situation. The business keeps running while the system rebuilds underneath it.
- How long does each stage take?
- Discovery is a 15-minute chat you can take whenever. The opportunity report lands in your inbox within three business days. Implementation timeframes depend on the service — typically 2–4 weeks for automation, 6–12 weeks for scalable-systems redesign.
Tools
- What tools do you build on?
- Whatever fits your stack — Zapier, Make, n8n, custom code, or direct API integrations. We don’t sell a specific tool; we pick what’s right for the job. If your team already lives in a particular platform, that’s usually where we build.
Comparison
- How is this different from regular consulting?
- Regular consulting bills you to gather information and hand you a deck. We bill you to write the strategy and build the systems it describes. The discovery and report stages are free so you have proof before you spend a dollar — strategy and implementation are paid because that’s where the real work happens. The monthly stage exists so the systems don’t decay the second we leave.
